Workshop will be held at the Centre
for Scientific Culture "Ettore Majorana" in Erice, a small town of Sicily in the South of Italy
with a great tradition of hosting
high quality scientific meetings (http://www.ccsem.infn.it/).
The Workshop will be part of the annual programme of the International
School of Liquid Crystals, directed by C. Zannoni, hosted by the

Attendance
The attendees should stay for the whole period and the cost of participation is 750 Euro.
This flat rate amount will cover a full board accommodation and coffee breaks for the participant, the meeting material, the local transportation from and to Palermo airport or Railway Station and the excursion.
Accommodation and meals
The lodgings will be spread in rooms of ancient monasteries and in some hotels in Erice.
Each room is with shower and WC.
Because some accommodations (especially for young students) will be in double rooms we would like to ask if you have any preferences for the choice of roommates.
Breakfast will be in the dining room of the Centre. Lunch and dinner will be at restaurants which work in connection with the center. Details will be given at your arrival.

Weather
Erice is a village sited at the top of
a small mountain (750 meters above sea level) and there the climate is a
bit different from the other parts of Sicily. Even in summer it is not really

Travel: How to Reach Erice
- By Air. There are many flights from Rome to Palermo, a few from Milan apart from the international connections. Our bus will be available at Palermo airport on the afternoon of your arrival day, until 17.00, to drive you to Erice.
- By Train. Via Milan-Rome, you can reach Trapani directly. From Trapani, to reach Erice comfortably, a taxi is suggested. Confirm the price before taking the taxi.
- By Road. There are two possibilities:
- Drive along the Autostrada del Sole via Milan-Bologna-Florence-Rome-Naples-Villa San Giovanni (Reggio Calabria); then take a ferry-boat from Villa San Giovanni to Messina and drive to Erice (350 km from Messina).
- Take the ferry-boat either from Genoa or Naples to Palermo, and then drive on to Erice (100 km from Palermo). The places on the ferry-boat must be booked in advance
