Trees on the bottom of the lake.
Image of the Lake Cheko bottom, at ~40m of water-depth, collected by Luca Gasperini using an underwater video camera (kindly provided by Communication Technology, Cesena) during the Tunguska2008 recognition. The lake bottom appears to be carpeted by tree trunks and branches, which are covered by a thin veneer of mud. We are still analysing data to gather information regarding the nature of these trees and the reason why they cover the lake floor.
