The Workshop will be held at the Center for Scientific Culture "Ettore Maiorana" in Erice, a small town of Sicily in the South of Italy with a great tradition of hosting high quality scientific meetings  (http://www.ccsem.infn.it/) .

The objective of the Workshop is to provide a state of the art review of the rapidly evolving field of computer simulation studies of defects in liquid crystals. Ample space will be devoted to discussing the open problems in theory and experiments that computer simulations can now tackle.

The workshop aims at bringing together leading experts to advance our understanding in these fields, to identify directions for future research and to promote collaboration between theoretical and experimental scientists from different countries.
